  1. believe the hype

Posted by Unknown on 10th Aug 2012

I love this product. I rarely shampoo & prefer to co-wash, but when I do...this product does the trick. I only lather once, and apply it to my scalp. It cleans the hair, but does not dry out my scalp and hair. Also, it is not a matted mess afterwards (which has happened with other 'clarifying' shampoos). The only downer is the price.

  2. Waste of Space!

Very ordinary and over-priced shampoo in my view.

  3. More a Clarifying Shampoo

Posted by Yvonne on 21st Nov 2011

You will need to wet your hair and then use a 5p size then repeat the process. Although this removes build up on the hair, and gives squeaky clean hair - for type 4 hair this leaves the hair very dry not moisturised at all. This should be used once a month as a clarifying shampoo followed with a Deep Conditioner.

For natural using natural haircare products - this would not be needed as most products should be water soluble and would wash out on wash day. If you are looking for a moisturising shampoo this is not it.

  4. You Only Need A Tiny Bit!

Posted by Keisha of Power to the Afro on 13th Jan 2011

I found this to be a very good shampoo for making my hair feel very clean. I have also only used a very tiny amount so the bottle still looks pretty unused. After rinsing it can make your hair feel squeeky clean which makes it hard to just smooth your hands over it, but the fact is that it is clean and you could add another product to your hair to counteract this.

  5. Very cleansing

Posted by Vicky on 30th Nov 2010

I love this shampoo! It is the most cleansing of the sulfate free shampoos I have tried. A small amount produces a nice lather which I know isn't necessary but always makes my hair feel more clean. When my hair feels overconditioned or has build-up I use this with a pinch of bicarbonate of soda followed by an apple cider vinegar rinse and it sorts it out! It smells nice and citrusy. The only thing is that I don't think it should be called moisturising as it is definitely more balancing- which isn't a problem as I don't think it is too harsh and knot today replenishes the moisture nicely. I noticed it contains sea salt so it wouldn't be suitable for someone who has had a brazilian keratin treatment (I realised this after accidently recommending it to my mum who has had one).

  6. Drying drying drying!

Posted by Unknown on 19th Nov 2010

I agree with everyone else - expensive disappointment. My hair is sooo dry you can feel even the oils in the skin of your hands disolving!

  7. Leaves your hair a bit dry

Posted by Unknown on 12th Oct 2010

I used Kinky Curly hoping the sulfate free formlation would create wonders. Well it did clean really well but the moisturizing claim did not leave up to expectations. I therefore used it as my first lather shampoo when I don't do baking soda.

  8. Unimpressed.

Posted by oddityofwings on 28th Sep 2010

I had really high hopes for this shampoo, but while it has a lovely scent and a nice lather, it dries out my hair horribly. I put it on and within 30 seconds my hair's done the shampoo version of flash-drying and it's tangled and feels like straw. It does clean well - perhaps a little too well. I'm willing to suspect it's just my hair's general dislike of lo-poos that's given me a not-so-good experience with this.

  9. cleansing but not very moisturing

Posted by Unknown on 10th Sep 2010

I used the knot today and curling custard religiously so thought Id try out this product for my type 3b/3c hair.

The product smells refreshing and does not have that sickly sweet smell you can get with other products. My hair certainly felt clean after but I defintely noticed that it was not as soft and as conditioned as when I used other shampoos.

All in all a good buy and worth a try to see if it works for you.

  10. Quality products but maybe a little drying?

Posted by Deb on 28th Jul 2010

I think this is a very nice CG shampoo, with nice ingredients and subtle smell, but I did wonder if it dried my hair out a little. If followed by the wonderfully effective Knot Today it doesn't matter too much, but still maybe better not to dry the hair out too much in the first place?

  11. I like this

Posted by Unknown on 30th Mar 2010

This does exactly what it promises which is remove product build up. My 4ab hair felt clean after shampoo but not dry.

  12. Dry my hair

Posted by Jessica 4C on 20th Jan 2010

Too much lathers and let my hair dried so much.
Not the best shampoo for nappy hair

  13. Love love love it!

Posted by Zuza on 12th Jan 2010

I've been using Bumble & Bumble products for few years and got bored of them - or my hair did, so I've decided to check out other products on the market. Came across the British Curlies website and ask for advice - I have baby-fine curly hair so can't use anything that weighs it down. They recommended 2 brands: Curl Junkie and Kinky-Curly. First I bought the Curl Junkie and hated it - full of chemicals - even the smell is chemically. Then I've ordered Kinky-Curly and thought I died and gone to heaven!!! I got the Come Clean shampoo which is gorgeous, Knot Today conditioner that leaves my hair soft and shiny, and finally the Curling Custard - definitely the best curling crème on the market at present!!! I'm 37, a mum, and lost loads of hair in my pregnancy, but after using this products my hair looks brand new again - just like when I was 18! 5 stars to all 3 products!
