Dryness causes frizziness and out-of-control hair. C.H.S. Curl Keeper™ enables you to become the master of those gorgeous frizz-free curls. Hanging your head over while bending forward helps to dry the roots and gives the curl more bounce. C.H.S. Curl Keeper™ is a water-based formula, which means you can use it everyday without product buildup.
Directions Comb Curl Keeper through wet hair from roots to ends for an even application… FOR VERY FRIZZY HAIR, USE ADDITIONAL PRODUCT. The less movement that occurs during the first 15 minutes, the more control you will have over the frizz. Once your hair dries, you can easily soften your look by simply moving your hair around. The more you play with your hair the more volume you will achieve. Some people start appreciating their volume and curls once they have total control over the frizz. The Curl Keeper formula re-activates with water, so simply re-wetting frizzy areas with wet hands could get you many fantastic frizz-free days between shampoos.

I have 3b hair which has been cut to stop the curl, for around 30 years. Although still short after 5 months growth the product is definitely helping with frizz control. I am on the second week of The CG method, Lorraine Massey, and wonder why these products are so expensive and difficult to source?

I'm a wavy whirly and, depending on it's mood, my hair can either have bouncy ringlets or limp, frizzy waves. This product is great at reducing frizz and encouraging those curls. Reactivates well the next day and doesn't make hair feel producty. I use a gel on top for extra hold but haven't found a curl activator to rival this. One Star off for eye-watering price.

What can I say, it works! no frizz but ignore the directions to comb through or you'll get frizzy hair. Use your fingers instead. I also used it with extenzz and found these two products with hairvedas green tea sample oil cream woked wonders. Soft hair all the way!!
My hair is 3b/c hair

I really regret spending money on this product. I tried using it in different ways and combined with different products. The result is always the same - dry, frizzy hair that looks like it's made of plastic. And the smell is horrible, plasticky and cloying.
I think it's finally going to the trash can.

Tried many products, gels mousse, serums and waxes. This beats all of them. I estimate it reduced my frizz by 90% and really defined my hair. My hair is thick 2b/c but very prone to fluff/ lack of definition. Twisting and scrunching really encouraged curls and mild scrunching alone made more wavy than coily curly - still kept the volume but in a nice way.
I found using more than you would normally for products produced best results, didn't build up or make my hair heavy/greasy or dry.
Expensive but worth it.

I have used this for several months before giving a review (thorough test) and I do love it and have ordered more! It 'organises' my curls and keeps them bouncy and frizz-free.

I am a 3b/c curly and am still not sure about curl keeper! Because of my low porosity, I can't use products on soaking wet hair. So far I have tried this on damp hair in the following combinations:
On its own
Under a leave-in and styling creme
Leave-in, then curl keeper, then styling creme
Leave-in, styling creme, then curl keeper
I think the last combo has been the best so far, but today I am going without it to see if it really does make that big a difference to my hair! I may have to come back and re-review!

This seems to work well on my 2b/c fine low porosity hair. It was great for holidays as I could just put some into wet hair, scrunch and air dry (without any other styler). There's no hold but it gives nice shiny frizz free waves. Works well for me with a light curl activator (Paul Mitchell round trip) scrunched over the top. I don't think it would work without a hard hold gel over it for stronger/coarser curls. You do need to use a good sized puddle of it but it definitely helps with definition and frizz. Good buy!

Highly recommended to all girls/ladies with curly hair!
My hair's so dry and thick and when I used this Curly Keeper first time, it's so easy to apply and look fantastic when it's finished. I have lots of lovely comments about my curly hair and I'm very pleased with your wonderful products, keep up with your good work. Hey you girls with curly locks should try it. :o) x

I have tried lots of products for my natural curly hair but I am really pleased with the results of this product. I left my hair to dry naturally with the roller jaw clamps and then when almost dry used the diffuser. I could not believe the results and I would highly recommend this product - will buy this again.

HAIR TEXTURE TYPE used on:
My daughter has 3a hair (she's "mixed" in background).
Her curls are gorgeous and she gets compliments all the time already with Kinky Kurly Custard (KKC).
The difference is slight. KKC is like a gel with almost a hold on its own and natural product so I will always use this product more.
Interestingly, the Curl Keeper gets her even better results. It has less hold but still it defines individual strands better because it does not just hold hair together. Hard to explain. Curl Keeper still allows lots of movement to the hair. The strands are held separately and don't tangle. Almost no frizz.
The texture is a liquid like gel similar to Curl Junkie's Curl in the bottle or Curl queen except without the build up that I found in those two for her 3A hair.
The price is ok given that only a little is needed. I find this saying to be true only for this product. For most products, this instruction is not totally true.
The only disadvantage are the....the ingredients (natural??). Incomprehensible...but still gets 5 stars because the promised results are really there.

I received this as a sample and I was glad I did because I was thinking of buying it. Luckily enough I didn't spend any money on it as it really did nothing for my hair. It was just like adding water. Frizz was still there and I definitely needed other products to style my hair. Although I think I have applied it according to the directions given, I might still have done something wrong but I can't be bother to find out what it was.

I love this product! It is a serum that defines and shapes curls (and NOT a gel, so it won't give you any hold). I use it after applying KKKT and before applying KKCC with amazing results. The smell (which is not unpleasant at all in my view) is almost imperceptible and does not linger once the hair is dry. I would highly recommend this product if your curls need more definition. And as I said, I get better results when I wear it under my regular gel (KKCC).

I have been using all different products to control my hair, some of the very expensive! But using just a small amount of this on clean damp hair gives me bouncy curls for days that are reactivated with a splash of water. This is something that is now an essential.

Tried this out and from the pictures was expecting some pretty good results. However, this made NO difference at all. My hair was just sticky and greasy and the product made it even more tangled. I wouldn't buy it if you have tightly curled hair.

I have thick, coarse corkicelli type hair and have used Curl Keeper for the first time today with the best results I've ever had. I used a very small amount of Darcy's curl jelly on top, let it dry naturally for a good half hour then used my diffuser. My hair feels soft with good curl definition but no frizz. Very definitely the best product I have ever used.

I've never been compelled to write a review before, but this product is so great I thought I should share it! Yes, it's is pricey but not when you consider the cost of other products you have bought that are useless. This gave me great curl definition and bounce. I no longer have a frizz haze round my head even in damp weather! Please don't stop stocking it ever!!!

I've 3A curls and find this product an essential. It's silly - every now and again I get sucked in to another products clever marketing and try something else, but I know deep down that nothing compares to this stuff. I use it when I'm having my hair full blown ringlets, I use it to tame waves if I stroke my hair while it's drying, and I use it when I"m straightening to protect it from humidity. I love it that wet weather conditions activates the product and enhances my curls without the frizz. And it allows me to have alright-ish hair the next day (if I pineapple it for sleeping) whereas I could NEVER usually have second day curls. I didn't think I'd write this much as a review, but I would like to know all this if I didn't know the product. Definitely worth a go. And what smell??!

This product does exactly what it says it does: control frizz. It really is brilliant at it.
It might not give volume or hold but then it doesn't claim to do either.
I know some people do not like the smell but I don't mind it at all.
I think any curly haired woman should have a bottle of this!
Posted by Wendy 3b on 3rd Dec 2010
The smell is weird, like something old. I use it with AG re:coil (which unfortunately isn't sold here, but maybe soon???)and I get great ringlets. By itself it doesn't give me enough hold. It's really liquidy, like a serum. I wouldn't buy it again.

Defintely the best product I've bought from the emporium. It doesn't quite give enough hold on its own, but with some gel on top (I use it with Fuzzy Duck Anti Frizz Gel)it turns my frizzy, fluffy mop into glossy defined curls :-) It does dry very cruchy, but just needs a good scrunching out.
On day 2 I dampen my hair and scrunch a bit once dry again and I get good second day curls, which I've never ever had before!
I much prefer it to curl creams which are a bit too heavy for my 3b ( i think!) curls. Similar hold and definition to a mousse, but kinder to curls.

I've been using this product for a couple of months now and I really like it. It's easy to apply and I get good results, although my hair isn't completely frizz-free after use. However, that could be my fault rather than that of the product, or maybe I'm just not using enough! On the second day, I wet my hair as directed, and it curls once again without any trouble. The bottle is a reasonable size, so despite the price, it's still fairly economical.

Easy to apply. Easy to wash out. Moderately priced. Curls that are soft and shiny. This is not my ideal product but it has stood up to my scrutiny while others haven't.

Curl keeper does EXACTLY what it says on the bottle. I got frizz free, shiny, glossy, soft ringlets using this. For the first time, this product gave me 2nd and even 3rd day hair. I just smooth it in to wet hair, its very easy to distribute and hard to over use, and then scrunch and apply my other products. I will definitely buy this again - I couldn't live without this product, it's a Godsend and so time-saving as you can go for maybe a few days without re-wetting your hair. I haven't found this in any other product.

I’ve got fine hair, 3A/3B curls and no other product helps me fight frizz and achieve 2nd day hair like Curl Keeper. It’s rather watery and easy to distribute (I section my hair and comb it through).
When I first used CK I believe I used way too much (their site says you can never use too much). I use smaller amount now and the result is still excellent. It combats frizz and makes my hair very soft and shiny.
The CK hasn’t got enough hold for me, so I use gel on top of it. (It can be used with any product – leave-in, curl cream or KCCC). On 2nd day I wet my hands and reactive Curl Keeper with water. I will definitely buy it again.
