1. Disappointing - no hold

   I have mixed feelings about this product - I like how it doesn't leave a residue in my hair, and my curls look pretty when I first dry them, but it just doesn't have enough hold for my coarse 3a - 3b hair - so hair goes puffy and dry looking very quickly (within a couple of hours). I have yet to find a gel that I love for my hair:-(

   After a successful shopping spree in the Curl junkie line, including the Daily Fix (fantastic), the Smoothing lotion (best of the best) and the Smoothing conditioner, I tried this extra product and was EXTREMELY DISAPOINTED. After trying it both under wet and dry hair, I got the same results.....LOTS OF RESIDUE on Day 2....a disaster as I had to reshampoo the hair. Because of the flaxes, there was no shine. The hair was matte. I had to go back to Kinky Kurly. Do not use this on 3a or 4a hair.
   
   This said, I see that lots of people are getting results....so it's a bit strange.
   
   I will keep using the other wonderful Curl Junkie products. The brand has the best combination of using excellent ingredients in a way that works.

   I went CG about 3 months ago and I've struggled to find products that don't leave my hair either fluffy or greasy/heavy.
   
   I used Curls in a Bottle for the first time this morning and straight away my hair looks like it used to with expensive 'cones.
   
   (I've got fine botticelli hair, not sure what number that means).

   I was so excited to try this product on my fine 3c hair! When it arrived I thought the smell was wonderful, very citrusy. I followed the directions on the bottle and saturated my hair with the CIAB. Big mistake, my hair looked greasy and flat. I tried again the next time using much much less and the results were wonderful - shiny, bouncy, moisterised curls. I did wear this product on top of the Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a side note. I love that you can layer this. Didn't give it a five as I still have to apply Eco gel to the crown of my head as the frizz is not decreased in this area. Kind of bummed about that

   I bought this on a whim. I wanted to try something different and watching all the reviews on youtube, i took the plunge. I DO NOT REGRET IT. It really softens my hair and leaves it amazingly touchable. It's getting hotter, and my hair always suffers in the heat, regardless of my healthy hair practices - this baby puts the pro in protection and the soft in softness. It de-frizzes a bit, but i dont have issues with frizz to any large extent. i heart this product and i will buy again :)

   Day one is good but after that it seems to make my hair straighter and duller! Lovely smell and maybe I need som other products that will hold my fragile baby type

   Hey fellow curlies,
   
   I bought this product as it was in the best seller, so thought I would give it a try (with a lot of hope in it). For my Botticelli/3b long hair, this didn't give me enough hold, and felt my hair was left a bit dry. For me who like all in one products that you can use alone, this wasn't good at all. However, since I had the (big!) bottle, I thought I would still try to find a way to use it.
   So now, I use it to revive my 2nd/3rd day hair. I use a 50p size amount which I water down in my hands and apply it to my hair, crunching through my hair. I sometimes repeat this a second time to cover all sections. I let it to hair dry and my curls look defined again without the dryness.
   So, not such a let down after all :)

   I decided to buy this product as I don't like anything heavy on my hair. It was kind of light but not light enough. I found that it left my hair looking a bit flaky and the product didn't mix in my hair as it should. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but it didn't work for me.

   This is one of those that you need to work out how it works best for your hair - and when you do work it out, woowzers have your curls looking amazing and at their best.
   When I first tried this I was disappointed with the consistency and instantly thought this runny gel like stuff is not gonna work, its not creamy enough for my dry hair and it conjured up thoughts of crispy flyaway crunchy curls.
   So i tried it with a leave-in conditioner applied first so my hair was moisturised enough. (I use CJ curl-fix as a leave in)
   Then i applied curls in a bottle to style. and I tell you I don't think my 3c curls have ever had so many compliments from strangers and friends on a daily basis. my hair looks really full, defined curls, no frizz, and healthy looking. And no crispiness - as long as you don't use too much anyway.

    other products from this line worked ok -for a short time in my hair - but this.. this left my hair going wavy instead of my ringlets, frizzy, knotty with tangles its horrible horrible, and its such a huge bloomin blottle too.. lol learn my lesson not to purchase from this line ever again, sorry!

    this pretty well does what it says. i still get frizz on my 3a/b botticeli curls with this, and have to sqeeze out extra product after i saturate or else it *can* be too heavy but it smells like gardenias! best product yet for me.

    I use this over my KCCC it just works wonders I have never had 5 day hair that was somewhat frizz-free, I used it with Giovanni direct leave-in and also works great giving me a shiny tamed look, love Curl Junkie

    My curls have been looking really dull, dry and generally lacking oomph. I've been using a mousse for years now, so thought I'd make a change, and after much research and trying loads of different products, I finally ordered this. I was a bit worried to discover that 'curls in a bottle' was a liquid gel! Gel stylers almost always leave my fine hair flat crunchy and dry. Not this stuff! I am very impressed, no crunchiness or stickiness, just moisturised and bouncy curls. My curls have definitely got their oomph back!

    After using curls rock by tigi for years my curls started to drop and I needed to find a new product! Untold amounts of mousses, gels and other failed products later I found reviews for curls in a bottle and thought I'd give it a go!
    Have to admit when I saw the thin liquid substance I started to think there was no way in hell thats holding my thick curls!
    Well after defusing my hair as normal all I can say is I was speechless! My curls were the curliest I've seen them in ages!
    I'd say if your reading this thinking it wont work on your hair to give it a go I was amazed!
    Loving it and will be buying more!

    After trying Curl Junkies Curl Queen and finding that it worked well but left very obvious white residue in my hair i decided to give this a go as it sounded slightly lighter consistency and it is perfect! For my fine but very curly hair it smooths and defines without weighing it down or leaving any residue...just what i want! I would definitely recommend to someone with hair that can't take heavy products.

    I have naturally curly hair which is a pain to deal with bevquse of frizz. I can safely say that i trued practically all products on the market. Roberto gionini products are good but lately my hair seemed really dull. This one is wonderful. It makes my curles shiny, healthy looking with more bounce and energy. Its worked very well for me. I just ordered 2 more bottles!

    i have never used a gel always moouse the same product for years, after a bad spell with my hair decided to try this out, i didnt think it would be that good but it is. i only need a small amount compared to the moouse i was putting in my hair. no sticky or hardness off curls, my curls are full bouncy and full of life. i even tried it out on my dad's hair for a laugh and it done wonders for his curly hair too will be buying again thanks x

    This product is easy to distribute, has a lovely delicate fragrance,leaves the hair shiny and moisturised and doesn't dry crunchy. It doesn't control frizz as well as curl keeper does in my opinion ( although it's very close)but then the hair dries with more volume and is more moisturised. I'll try it on top of curl keeper next time, that should give me ultimate frizz control! There are only 2 reasons I haven't given this 5 stars:
    1: I'm comparing it with Curlisto's structura lotion which as far as I'm concerned is the best product ( in combination with control 2 gel)I've ever used
    2: I need to use this in conjunction with curlisto's control 2 gel (any control gel would do I imagine) to get more hold since it has little of it on it's own.

    This stuff is brilliant! Like most curlies, I have spent a fortune in the search for the perfect product for my hair and I have finally found it in Curl Junkies' "Curls in a Bottle". Since the discontinuance of VO5's Nourishing Creme I have tried numerous leave in conditioners, serums, curl gels and cremes. Nothing has EVER worked this well. I have Type 3a/b hair with low porosity and products tended to just sit on my hair and make it either crisp or look wet. I recently cut my hair short again (chin length) as I like it best that way and was suffering dreadfully from static! Never a good look! "Sod it!" I thought, "this stuff is pricey, but if it works it'll be worth it!" For me it is WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD...no static, no frizz, no crunch, minimal hold...in short: PERFECT. In fact this is the only stuff I have ever used which has allowed me to wear my hair down the following day after washing! I cannot speak highly enough of this stuff. Even the extortionate postage was worth it as it arrived so quickly...I will be ordering 2 bottles next time as I have a penchant for falling in love with products that are set to be discontinued, and it would be a crime to curls if this stuff wasn't around forever. LOVE IT!!! THANK YOU!!!

    At first I didn't know for what I could possibly use this product. It didn't work alone for me, because it didn't give me enough hold. Combined with CJCCCLite it gave me a wet look eventhough my hair was dry. But it is great a finishing product. It is very liquid and thin, kind of like a serum. I'd buy it again!
